Albany Records (TROY2014) Svjetlana Bukvich’s Unraveling the Linear for wind quintet and electronic sound is featured on Resonant Worlds, an acclaimed collection of commissioned quintets by the New-York-based Sylvan Winds. The recording was supported by Chamber Music America and the New York State Council on the Arts. Now in its 47th season, the ensemble continues to expand the repertoire and affirm their ongoing impact on classical music.

Before and After the Tekke is inspired by Meša Selimović’s book Death and the Dervish, my visit to an 18th century tekke (dervish monastery) at the karstic Buna river spring in Herzegovina, the music idioms of the region, and the sounds of New York City. The piece features tuning of my design woven with tempered intonation. It is dreamed from sounds that I have once known but since forgotten.
